Harbourside Views Stunningly Shaded

Our clients live in an iconic Sydney development with beautiful views from Point Piper to the Harbour Bridge and city skyline.   There was only one issue, their western facing aspect meant that they were heavily impacted by the afternoon sun.   Naturally they wanted to preserve the magical view but still obtain relief from the heat and UV that pounded their building’s curved façade.

Blindmaster’s Troy Breglec suggested using three Markilux 6000 Uber Cocoon retractable awnings to provide shade when needed and retract neatly out of view on cooler days.   Despite a challenging hi-rise installation Blindmaster was able to stagger the three awnings around the façade to match the curve of the building.  Each awning was also angled steeply to provide protection from the western sun.

The result is a stunning architectural design that adds interest to the curved balcony whilst providing shade and still revealing the view beyond.  The installation looks great and works just as Troy’s customer had hoped so they could not be happier with the result.
